Morning session II: Myths and Misconceptions

Addressing myths and misconceptions: how to tackle ignorance and prejudice in your research and in your papers (Following Urquhart and Fernandez, 2013)

Afternoon session I: Publishing GTM

Why some GTM papers fail to be published? In this session we will discuss why many GTM papers never see the light of publication. We will be talking about common issues and how they should be addressed.

Afternoon session II: How to evaluate a GTM study, an informed and non-partisan way of assessing goodness of GTM studies.

Working on your problems – What is stopping/bothering you?

For this section you need to think about the top three concerns you have regarding your GTM study. We will then analyse the full list of concerns and address them.

Continue to work on your problems and issues arising during the previous discussions.

Credit points

Doctoral students participating in the seminar can obtain  2  credit points. This requires participating on all of the days and completing the assignment.

Registration fee

This seminar is free-of-charge for Inforte.fi member organization's staff and their PhD students. For others the participation fee is 750 €. The participation fee includes access to the event and the event materials. Lunch and dinner are not included.
