Advanced Wireless networks

This workshop provides an overview of some selected issues in recent advanced wireless networks including mobile ad hoc network (MANET), delay tolerant networks (DTNs), wireless sensor network (WSN), 4G cellular network architecture, namely, multihop cellular network and LTE-A. Some selected MAC and routing protocols in MANET and WSN will be presented. In addition, the current trend in R&D and some existing commercial products in these networks will be discussed. Finally, a number of proposed and studied architectures of multihop cellular network, which has been proposed for next generation mobile network, will be covered.

Abstract

This workshop is aimed at the researchers from academic and industries, practicing engineers, and technical managers who need to know both of the technical and practical aspects of some advanced wireless networks such as ad hoc networks, wireless sensor networks and the most up-to-dated future mobile networks. Engineers who are interested to develop wireless network in various aspects are suitable to attend this workshop. This can help audience in research and development on those advanced wireless networks.

The audiences are expected to have basic background of wireless communications. Knowledge of mobile communication networks, such as cellular network and WiFi, is an advantage.

Speaker

Dr. Peter Chong, Associate Professor School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Organizer: Professor Tapani Ristaniemi
