Gyimothy, Tibor
Dr. Tibor Gyimothy is the Head of the Software Engineering Department at the University of Szeged in Hungary. His areas of research interest include compilers, program analysis, software maintenance, embedded systems, machine learning. He has published over 100 articles in refereed conferences and journals. He was the Program Chair for CC’96 conference and Program Co-Chairs for CSMR'02, CSMR’03 and ICSM’05 conferences. Prof. Gyimothy has served in over 60 program committees including those of the ICSE, ICSM, CC, CSMR, COMPSAC,SCAM. He was the leader of many software engineering R&D projects. Papers coauthored by him have been selected for best papers award in CSMR’01, SCAM ’05 and ICPC’08.
He was a member of the Steering Committee of CSMR from 2001 to
2003 and he was a member of the Steering Committee of ETAPS from 1998 to 1999. Prof. Gyimothy is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Software Maintenance and Evolution: Research and Practice. In 1997, he was awarded the Kalmár Prize of the John von Neumann Computer Society and between 1998 and 2002 the Szechenyi Fellowship for Professors. From 1996 to 1997, he served as co-chair of the IEEE Computer Society European Activity Committee, and between 2000 and 2002 he was the chair of the IEEE Computer Society Central and Eastern European Initiatives Committee.
