Murillo, Juan Manuel
Juan Manuel Murillo is Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department of the University of Extremadura in Spain. He received his M.Sc. in Computer Science in 1994 (Polytechnic University of Catalonia - Spain) and his PhD. in Computer Science in 2002 (University of Extremadura). He belongs to the Quercus Software Engineering Group and his research interests include Software Architecture, Software Adaptation, Cloud Computing and Mobile Computing. Particularly, he is interested in new architectures for mobile applications based on the PeaaS (People as a Service) where the role of mobile devices as active service providers is enhanced. He uses to contribute to conferences (CLOSER, ICSEA or NordiCLoud, etc.) as well as journals (IEEE Software, IEEE Internet Computing, IST, etc.). Juan Manuel is also cofounder of the Start-up company GLOIN (www.gloin.es). The company was born in 2010. In June 2013 GLOIN won the LaunchPad Denmark Business Plan Cup with a proposal based on the NimBees platform (www.nimbees.com), an implementation enabling PeaaS architectures.
