Sorathia, Keyur

Assistant Professor at Department of Design (DoD), IIT Guwahati

 

Keyur Sorathia is currently working as Assistant Professor at Department of Design (DoD), IIT Guwahati. In addition to teaching on Interaction Design, Physical Computing & Tangible Interfaces, his research interests also include working in Gesture and Tangible Interfaces and Wearable Computing. Current focus of research includes using technology and design interventions in healthcare and education in India. He runs a research lab Embedded Interaction Lab (EILab) to support his research interests. He is currently working with IBM Research, Xerox Research, Microsoft Research, Nokia Research and Samsung Research on variety of research topics.

He has been awarded with various prestigious IBM SUR award, Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award, Nokia Confluence award etc. along with others. Innovation under his guidance "Chetna" has been awarded top 30 innovations by India Innovation Growth Program. He is also Erasmus Fellow and visiting lecturer at Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia
